About Neurowise

Why a brain-based dual-track approach to therapeutic caregiving?

Children and young people with FASD, ADHD, or autism often face challenges with regulating emotions, managing relationships, and having their needs met. When these needs go unmet, the behaviours that follow can feel overwhelming for caregivers and practitioners.

Traditional therapeutic parenting models like PACE don’t always address the wellbeing of caregivers and practitioners, nor do they fully account for the brain-based roots of these difficulties.

That’s where the Neurowise Brain-Based, Dual-Track Approach comes in. This unique approach builds on PACE, combining it with insights from neuroscience, acceptance and commitment, psychodynamic and behavioural therapy - creating a therapeutic caregiving model designed specifically for neurodiveristy.

Our programme is dual-track because it supports the wellbeing of caregivers and practitioners as well as children, building their capacity in the areas where neurodiverse children and young people often struggle. At the same time, this creates a positive ripple effect—children benefit from a more regulated environment and from the skills and understanding that adults can pass down in accessible, practical ways.

Anna Webster, Founder and CEO

My passion is to help neurodiverse families to not just survive, but thrive and enjoy life. As an adoptive mum to a gorgeous 12-year-old boy with FASD, ADHD, and autism, I have firsthand experience of how hard it is to manage the rollercoaster of emotions and challenging behaviours. I understand how overwhelming and isolating it can feel. And I know how much you  can feel blamed and shamed by a lack of understanding and support for brain-based challenges.

As a Coaching Psychologist, Psychotherapist in Training, Certified NHS Wellbeing Coach, and Qualified Trainer, I bring over a decade of experience in coaching and training families and professionals. I also work for The University of Salford on a study into a programme for FASD caregivers.

With an MSc in Psychology with Neuroscience, an MA in Sociology and certifications in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotion Coaching, Mindful Self Compassion and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, I have a deep understanding of emotion, behaviour, and the complexities of neurodiversity.

I’m looking forward to working with you.

What people are saying

“The FASD workshops were the best I attended in the many years that have passed since I first adopted. This has been the only workshop when I felt there was space for me to be and feel, the only program that has considered adopters not just as human beings (most programs don't even do this) but as THE MOST important people for our children. I recommended the workshops to all Adoption services in our area and I would recommend them to anyone who is serious about adopting, they are a must!”

“This programme has been invaluable. Before the sessions started our family were at crisis and now we feel more positive. To be able to talk freely and not feel judged has been huge. Thank you for making it a safe and comfortable place to share, learn and actually laugh! I have learnt so much, have new tools for our tool kit and feel more confident in my understanding of my daughter.”
